Dude Ranches of Cuba

Horses have always played a key role in the history of Cuba as trusted steeds during times of war, as workers to till the soil, to pull funeral hearses to the final resting places of Cuban citizens and for recreation.  The idea of riding a bareback horse along a surging surf under a full Cuban moon breathing sulty salty air is intoxicating. Recreational horse riding is available and working ranches have always been a part of Cuban history since Spanish Colonial times.

All areas of Cuba welcome beginners in horseriding.  Riding schedules include morning or afternoon rides. Cuba is subtropical and the rainy season is May through November.  While horseriding, the local flora and fauna of natural Cuba can be enjoyed. If you are traveling to Cuba primarily for horseriding, you may want to bring the following items with you: riding boots, jeans, a good hat, sun tan lotion, sunglasses, riding gloves, insect repellant, binoculars for flora and fauna, and a small first aid kit.
